Try to add vegetables in upma. Grate or puree them so she will not mind them so much. Try khichdi as it is a complete meal. If she likes fruits, include them in her diet. Try giving rice with curd and a bit of salt and mustard tadka. She will soon start liking other things too.

Hi you haven’t added salt in your recipes. I have a 1 yr old baby boy. I just add a pinch of salt in foods that I give him. Is salt not recommended for babies? Not the amount like we take but just a little?

Yes, it is advisable to avoid salt in baby’s food till 1 year. But after 1 year, you may add a little in his food as you are adding.

      Hi Dharini,
It is very common and normal for children to go through these phases. He will soon be back to his normal self. All you can do is give him variety of food and let him have what he wants. Trust me it will save you and him a lot of stress.

Toddlers can sometimes go through phases where they just want milk and no solids etc. and then they are back to their normal self. try giving something absolutely new which he hasn’t taken before, e.g. soft idli or small pieces of bread.
Please take doctor’s advice if this extends for many days.

If the baby is active and achieving milestones on time, then please don’t worry. Children grow suddenly when they go through growth spurts.
