This section is about recipes for our babies and young children that can be taken while on a journey. Important point being that they should keep well and not get spoilt.
Green Peas subzi
This is a veggie that can be prepared in the morning and carried on journeys and will stay fresh for many hours. It does not take much time to prepare as well.
Green peas – 1 cup
Oil – 2tbsp
Asafoetida – ¼ teaspoon
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Garam masala – ½ teaspoon
Salt to taste
Green chillies – optional
In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the oil.
Add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
When cumin seeds crackle, add peas.
Mix well and cook covered on simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Add salt and mix well till peas are cooked.
