6 Month Baby Food Chart Week 2

Now that your baby has been taking solids for a week in the morning, you may now offer a little at lunchtime as well. But if you feel that baby is not taking the solids readily, you may continue giving it only once in morning for this week as well. Always follow your baby’s cues and continue breastfeed / formula feed as often as baby wants.

We have introduced Dal ka pani or mung dal soup and Carrot puree in this week. We have also introduced pumpkin and potato mash to baby this week to combine two vegetables in baby food. You may also give whatever you have already introduced safely to baby.

Quantity to be given at 6 month – 2nd week

You may offer 2-3 teaspoons of food for breakfast and lunch this week.

But if you feel that baby is not taking the solids readily, you may continue giving it only once in morning for this week as well.

Always follow your baby’s cues and continue to breastfeed / formula feed as often as baby wants.

6 Month Baby Food Chart – Week 3

Now that baby is relatively used to solid food, continue to offer newer fruits, vegetables and textures to baby.

This week we will continue to introduce more complex foods and cereals to baby. We will introduce mixed cereals like khichdi and apple suji kheer now to baby.

The idea is to get baby used to different textures and tastes.

After 3 weeks of solids feeding, now your baby is quite used to texture of different solid foods. We have so far given soft and pureed food to baby. Continue giving mashed / pureed food to baby for next week as well, while introducing newer foods.

  1. Thank you for this chart. My baby is 6 months old and I was looking for a food chart for him. This will help me in introducing solids to him. Can you also advise some recipes for weaning.

This is lovely initiative from you,Priya.I’m sure so many new mothers have no idea of how to start solids for their 6 month old, especially those like me who stay away from family and have no one as such to guide. For my little one, I had started off by giving a spoon of ragi porridge for breakfast. She refused to eat initially but gradually developed taste.I added a pinch of jaggery to it for her to like.
